Request us on Kids Place Live!

Oh hi there! Pat here, saying hello and spreading the good word of ‘Tones!

Thanks everybody for hanging out with us at the Natick TCAN and Boston’s Children’s Museum 100th Anniversary Event last weekend! We also just recently booked Boston’s 2013 Earth Fest at the Hatchshell, which is pretty rad. We’re huge fans of Mother Nature, she’s a pretty big deal.

Also! Our funky-fresh rendition of “Iko Iko” has finally finished it’s epic journey up to #1 (and eventual plummet back down) on the Kid’s Place Live Charts. It was a wonderful, wild ride and we’re super thankful to Mindy and the rest of the crew over at Sirius XM. NOW IT’S TIME TO REPEAT!! Please please please request your favorite Jamtones song today! And tomorrow. And maybe the day after that too. Really, just as much as you possibly can. All of the info for calling in or requesting online is in the nifty picture I made and posted at the top of this post!

Hey, how are YOU? Tell us all about it! We’re always hanging out on our Facebook page, come stop by and say hi!

Happy Springtime everybody! -Patrick

Kindie-fied!

Quick note everybody: our Boston Children’s Museum performance is April 6th, NOT April 7th!! I’ve changed the date below, Thanks!

Heya there ladies and potato-heads, Pat here with another fantastically exciting Jamtones update for all of you! 2013 has already been so great to the Jamtones, here’s some exciting stuff happening in Jamtones land:

First thing’s first: we wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH for everyone that made it out to the Regent and Coolidge Corner theater shows! It was particularly gross and blizzard-y out (especially on Sunday) and it was super touching to see so many happy families out there that still wanted to come and dance with us!

We’ve been booked for this year’s annual KindieFest in NYC! The three day event will be held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (this place is way too fancy for us!) on April 26th, 27th and 28th (we’re playing on the 27th!). We’re SO PUMPED to be hanging out with Mindy Thomas, Dan Zanes, Lucky Diaz, Laurie Berkner and other awesome performers and “kindie” industry folk in the big apple.

We’ve also been booked for Boston Children’s Museum’s Family Fest on April 6th! This event will be the 100-year anniversary celebration for the BCM and we can’t wait to be a part of it! Come hang out with us, the show is just the normal price of admission.

Okay everybody, that’s it for now! As always, feel free to email me with any questions/comments/concerns (Patrick@jamminwithyou.com). See ya!

Peas (and carrots), Patrick!

Jamtones Issue First Release, "JUMP UP!"

WELLESLEY, Mass., October 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Josh and the Jamtones, an exciting and often hilarious Boston-based rock-and-roll family band, today announced the release of its debut full-length album, “JUMP UP!” Labeled as “Kindie Rock” by its fandom, the Jamtones is fronted by songwriter Josh Shriber and drummer/producer Patrick Hanlin. The “JUMP UP!” album is available at www.joshandthejamtones.com and on CD at CDBaby.com or for download at online retainers including iTunes and Amazon.

The “JUMP UP!” CD was debuted during the band’s performance at the Life Is Good Festival in Canton, Mass. on September 22 and September 23. Josh and the Jamtones shared the stage with other entertainers including Dave Matthews, Dan Zanes and the Fresh Beat Band. Josh and the Jamtones also recently opened for the massively popular children’s band, The Wiggles and performed at Fenway Park’s Family Fun Day.

“Our goal with the Jamtones is to create a totally unique, interactive and original music experience that parents can enjoy together with their children,” said Josh Shriber, songwriter, Josh and the Jamtones. “Our music sounds distinctly and deliberatively old-timey. You can hear our collective influences, like Bob Marley, Paul Simon and Paul McCartney on the new record. We think ‘JUMP UP!’ really encapsulates the rhythm and soul of our band.”

The 15 song “JUMP UP!” album was recorded and produced by band members Josh Shriber and Patrick Hanlin and by former Letters to Cleo bassist Scott Riebling, producer of Fall Out Boy and Cobra Starship. The six-member band, comprised of mostly Berklee College of Music alumni, has played more than 150 shows in the last year and has independently recorded 56 songs at their private recording studio in Wellesley, Mass.

JUMP UP!” is being released in partnership with parent company Jammin’ With You, a wildly popular performance-based music school and provider of in-home music lessons to the greater Boston and NYC areas. Owned and operated by Shriber, the company utilizes original Jamtones material as curriculum for classes.

TOMORROW’S MLB STARS TO FACE-OFF AT FUTURES AT FENWAY PRESENTED BY XFINITY ON AUGUST 18 7th Annual Doubleheader to Feature Family-Friendly Activities, and Star Wars™ Themed Programming Including a Costume Parade, and Free Lightsabers for First 1000 Kids

BOSTON, MA – Families across New England will have the chance to see the Major League Baseball stars of tomorrow when the 7th annual Futures at Fenway presented by Xfinity comes to Fenway Park on Saturday, August 18. Family-friendly, discounted ticket and concession prices along with kid-friendly activities and entertainment will highlight the day of minor league fun at “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark.”

After a one year absence from the event, Boston’s Single-A affiliate, the Lowell Spinners, will make their fifth overall appearance at Futures at Fenway, taking on the Hudson Valley Renegades, the Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, at 1:05pm. Game two will feature the Pawtucket Red Sox, also making their fifth Futures at Fenway appearance, as they face-off against the Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

At this year’s event the Red Sox will team up with Lucasfilm Ltd. to incorporate Star Wars themed programming elements, including a costume parade around the warning track for the first 500 people dressed in Star Wars costumes to line up in the Big Concourse, an opportunity for kids to take pictures with Star Wars characters, and free lightsabers for the first 1000 kids to visit a Red Sox Kid Nation booth located at Gates A, B, E, and the Left Field deck. To start the doubleheader, a special ceremonial first pitch with a special Star Wars twist will take place.

Additionally, the first game will feature a “Sith inning” stretch during which Chewbacca will take over the PA, and Star Wars characters will lead the crowd in a rendition of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame.” While the minor league teams battle each other on the field, off the field Wally the Green Monster will take on Darth Vader in a battle on top of the Red Sox dugout between innings. For more information on the day’s events please visit redsox.com/futures.

Other family-friendly activities will include live music from Josh & the JamTones on Yawkey Way, balloon artists, face painting, miniature golf, Skeeball, a magician, and stilt walker. Kids attending the games will have an opportunity to run the bases after the second game, and will also be selected randomly throughout the day to participate in activities such as mascot races and other on-field experiences. Player autograph sessions will also take place during the doubleheader.

Tickets can be purchased at redsox.com/futures or by calling (877) REDSOX-9. Fans with disabilities can call (877) REDSOX-9 to purchase accessible seating. The Red Sox’ TTY number for hearing-impaired fans is (617) 226-6644. Tickets start as low as $5.00 (for Bleacher seats) and range up to $30.00 (for Premium seating areas, including the EMC Club and the State Street Pavilion Club).

Many of the best and most promising prospects in the Red Sox farm system are part of the Lowell Spinners and Pawtucket Red Sox, giving fans a chance to catch these upcoming stars in the early stages of their development. Current Red Sox players who are alumni of one or both of these Minor League teams include Clay Buchholz, Jacoby Ellsbury, Jon Lester, Will Middlebrooks and Dustin Pedroia.

Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino originally approached the Red Sox seven years ago with the idea to host minor league games at Fenway Park. Although records are incomplete, the Futures at Fenway games in 2006 are believed to be the first minor league games played at Fenway Park since the 1977 Eastern League All-Star Game. The last known regular season minor league game played at Fenway had been a 1966 Eastern League contest between Pittsfield (Red Sox) and Pawtucket (Indians).

About Josh & The Jamtones

“The Jamtones are the best kids band I’ve EVER HEARD!!”
Carole Charnaw, President and CEO, Boston’s Children Museum

Josh and the Jamtones is an exciting and hilarious new Boston-based interactive dance party kids band geared towards two- to ten-year-olds and parents of all ages! Labeled “Kindie Rock” by its fandom, the Jamtones are a kids-version musical mash-up of bands like Bob Marley, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Jack Johnson and the Muppets. The band’s new record, “Jump Up!,” (available now on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby) is filled to bursting with hooky sing-alongs, zany skits and authentic roots/reggae jams played by some of Boston’s very best session and live musicians.

The Jamtones are fronted by songwriter Josh Shriber (owner of the wildly popular JAMMIN WITH YOU! music school and performance center) and drummer/producer Patrick Hanlin. “Our goal with the Jamtones is to create a unique live music experience that parents can enjoy together with their kids,” says Shriber. “The shows are all interactive: there’s always lots of singing, dancing, clapping, stomping, shaking, spinning and jumping going on! And the band is almost entirely made up of Berklee College of Music alumni so you can hear some really great musicianship both on the records and at our live shows.”

The band is one of the busiest in Boston, playing over 150 shows and releasing three official full-length records all in just the past year! The Jamtones have opened for the massively popular children’s band The Wiggles (twice!) and performed live at the illustrious Fenway Park, Boston Children’s Museum and the 2012 the Life is Good festival in Canton, Ma (featuring Dave Matthews, Dan Zanes and the Fresh Beat Band). The Jamtones have been a multi-week #1 most-played artist on Sirius XM’s Kids Place Live “13under13” countdown and have performed live on air in the Rumpus Room for the station’s 2012 New Years Eve show. Upcoming events include a Kindiefest showcase at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Boston’s 2013 Earth Fest!

Always looking for creative and fun ways to interact with their audience, the band boasts an impressive and engaging Youtube Channel (featuring original music, funny skits and holiday videos) and a strong social media network, so be sure to check them out on Facebook and Twitter!
